Episode 1 –
The Adoration of Melvin

How I Met Your Father!
How Captain Eyeball & Buzzard Breath Babette became Northeast Ohio’s first Superheroes!
The TV show is done with live action, claymation & animation;
We use inserts of silly old fashioned dialogue cards.
The voiceover by “Mr. Cement Head”, Captain Eyeball’s dear friend.
We begin….
Its evening in a warmly lit living room with 150 decorative Coconut heads on the living room wall. At the base of the wall the glow of an eyeball night-light illuminates a little harnessed, stuffed, “meep-meeping” pet guinea pig on a leash. The “pet” is dragged close to a child’s feet. Oversized white gloved hands pick it up & put in in a child’s lap.
Its bedtime time for the twins. They ask for one more story about how their parents became Ohio’s first superheroes!”
And so momma Buzzard Breath Babette begins the story, “Once upon a time…” But she is interrupted by the doorbell….
Enter Mr. Cement Head, who loves to tell the story to the twins,
They consider him their “uncle”
Out & about in Akron on their first date, the couple are treated just like any other people, no one comments about “Cappy’s odd rotund look or asks how he got that way.
He tells Babette that his parents ate too many carrots & that he has “C.O.S.”: Carrot Overload Syndrome. Because of C.O.S. he has unusual uh…, “giftings”. He has super-powers! His parents became “Hoppers” but his DNA radically changed making him an evolutionary rung above the average man; he can hop so well that he springs into the air & flies!
He takes Babette in his arms flying her up into the stars and twirls her as she giggles with delight, reminiscent of Lois and that OTHER Super-guy from the movies.
Together they create a late night community access TV show, “Rodent World” aimed for Guinea Pig loving Rodentphiles. They also delight in inventing odd stuff!
During months of dating, they notice people everywhere acting bizarrely.
Suddenly entranced victims walk around town like blubbering zombies. When they snap out of it, money, jewelry or precious tchotchkes are gone!
…. Even the Mayor of Akron & spouse were zombified.
Cappy secretly works with Central Intelligence & the Police who have not been able to solve the mystery.
The duo, sleuth about town discovering many mindless minion Mysterioso’s using an odd device labeled the, “Melvinizer”…
But WHO is BEHIND this MYSTERY????

His name is Eyeball! …Captain Eyeball.
What do you get when you cross a flying eyeball in tights and a girl with the breath of a buzzard? You get Ohio’s first home grown SUPERHEROES!
Captain Eyeball, a semi-reluctant superhero & “blue collar” worker & prankster, living in Cleveland Ohio spends his time at Bogdan’s House of Kapusta, drinking his favorite beverage hot Cocoa or just a coffee, break-dancing, eating Ukrainian food & coming up with fun pranks, inventions.
The book is a clear picture of the life & times of Captain Eyeball, Buzzard Breath Babette, Hatpin Molly, Mr. Cement Head, Calvin the Creepy & a host of other literally larger than life oddball characters.
Although having the ability to fly & super-vision, he’d rather hang with friends than spend his free time expending energy to fly & search out crime.
He falls in love with the bartender/bouncer Buzzard Breath Babette.
Her superpower is paralyzing, putrescent, blam-a-rooney breath!
The duo creates a late night community access TV show, “Rodent World” aimed for Guinea Pig loving Rodentphiles. the couples show struggles financially as they try to make an ongoing success it. Their Fan Club group of true Rodentphiles go to the Cleveland Zoo to see the largest rodent on the planet, the Capybara. The group is emotionally overcome with the joy, shock & awe of being so up close & personal with such an awesome thing of beauty.
Together they concoct a new liquor, “aperitif de horseradish”. Of course it is made from, you guessed it: Horseradish! When her family comes to the couple’s Cleveland apartment for the first time they try it out on her parents who wonder, “Why are they doing this to us?”
Buzzard Breath Benny, her brother, a professional Paint-Stripper is thrilled to get a ride in the Rodent-Mobile!
One day, a mysterious miscreant creates an itching epidemic. It causes bizarre behaviors in people as they try to relieve their misery. The maddening itching epidemic is driving the desperate neighbors crazy.
When crime comes to Captian Eyeball's neighborhood.....

His book is a"Whodunnit" loaded with URBANE SOPHISTICATION....reminiscent of Hammett's "The Thin Man".
Hrycyk has been a Paper Boy, Caddy, Grocery Store Employee, Bar Tender, laboratory Technician, Case Worker, University Student. He is currently a Retired Factory Worker and proud member of United Auto Workers. Presently the author operates a small business.
